Sophie Bocher lives and works in Malakoff. She evolves between her own workshop and private workshops where emulation and confrontation have been an integral part of her career for more than twenty years.
The black sandstone, which she loves the chamotte material and the possibilities of modeling, is at the origin of her work. She works the lines and the curves with the knife, the voids and the solid ones, in nestings where the search for the harmony is fundamental.
It is also a search around the light, it circulates around the volumes, sliding on the metal surfaces, clinging to the grain of minerals, allowing itself to be absorbed by plasters. Sensuality permeates the lines and their volumes. Creating a balance between abstraction and figuration, she createsstripped forms, essential, primitive.
