Biography and career

Agustina Bottoni

The Ladies' Room

Agustina is an Argentinian designer based in Milan. She works for galleries, companies and private clients, also producing small series of objects, textiles, and furniture.

She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. After many years working for the fashion industry, she transferred to Milan, graduating with honors of the Master of Arts in Design the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. Then, she collaborated with design studios in Italy and the Netherlands before focusing since 2016 to her independent design practice.

Her projects explore the language of everyday objects and carry meaning through refined sculptural shapes. They encourage an emotional perception, imagining objects as gentle companions. Agustina’s multicultural experience influences the continuous research of different materials and techniques, embracing crafts from a contemporary sensibility.

Her works are exhibited at international design and art institutions. She is also co-founder of the design collective The Ladies’ Room: a co-operation for observing contemporary design by creating artworks, installations, and experiences, that act as a discussion tool on the renewed need for sensory involvement.
