Alice Quaresma has experimented with materials that allow her photographs to be sensory and playful, pushing the boundaries of photography as a flat surface. At the same time , her work explores the physical aspects of photography, she continues to use images from her personal photo archive to develop the idea of displacement and identity.
She uses her fascination for the ocean as a starting point to explore an imaginary world inspired by her immigrant background. Alice explores the playful world of photography by experimenting with the possibilities offered by images and other materials, bringing less rational qualities to her photograghs.
