Maxime Mouroux was born in Paris in 1992. He lives and works in Ivry-Sur-Seine.
Growing up in the Paris suburbs, between a mother journalist and a facther painter and architect, Maxime Mouroux early manifest his creative energy. His adolescence is punctuated by the practice of graffiti and it is during his urban explorations that he freely composes his first grammar of forms. At the same time, he studied architecture and started working in an agence as an architect collaborator. Before being seized by the desire of the trip. In 2014, he spent a year in South America where he is full of sensations and images. Declic: he wants to devote himself entirely to artistic creation.
Back, he leaves the street for the workshop. He stops the graffiti to focus on new technique and a new medium: he silks up used truck tarpaulins and makes bags of them. This is not painting, not sewing, but a bit of both, and above all, a way of appropriating a material, of transforming it, of inventing usual, useful and beautifu object.
It is a step towards a new esearch that allows to create other "useful and beautifuk" objetcs, which also combine painting and textile , but on another level. With the tufted carpet by hand, Maxime Mouroux discovers a flexible medium that lends itself to all inventions and develops a special relationship with the user-viewer. It is an object of art that animates daily life, on the ground or on the wall, which draws space, that the body and the eye apprehend.More familiar than a painting but with the same aesthetic ambition to offer a landscape.
Cosmic universes, graphic variations, strict architectures, lyrical compositions ...The ideas are jostling the drawings, the colores are infinite! This is the beginning of the carpet adventure for Maxime Mouroux...
